JIU JITSU

JIU-JITSU CAN TEACH A SMALLER, WEAKER PERSON HOW TO DEFEAT A BIGGER, STRONGER OPPONENT.

We pride ourselves on creating an environment that is fun, educational, safe, and empowering. It’s a requirement that everybody leave their ego at the door. What we practice is a martial art and can be dangerous, if not downright lethal. However, if practiced correctly, it can be playful while still being intense and challenging.
We make it our mission for everybody who comes in, no matter what age or size, to find like-minded practitioners ready to take their self defense, physical fitness, and enjoyment of the art to the next level.

    BJJ HISTORY

A TRUE MARTIAL ART THAT HAS STOOD THE TEST OF TIME.

“Jiu-jitsu is personal efficiency to protest the weaker, which anyone can do. It is the force of leverage against brute force.”

    – Heleio Gracie

Brazilian jiu-jitsu was formed from Kodokan Judo ground fighting (newaza) fundamentals that were taught to Carlos Gracie & Luiz França by Mitsuyo Maeda and Soshihiro Satake.Carlos Gracie is known as the Founder and Creator of Modern Jiu Jitsu (Gracie Jiu Jitsu/Brazilian Jiu Jitsu). Brazilian jiu-jitsu eventually came to be its own art through the experimentations, practices, and adaptation from the Judo knowledge of Carlos and Hélio Gracie, who then passed their knowledge on to their extended family.

Whitehouse MMA provides knowledge and discipline that dates back many years. This image shows the lineage of the Jiu Jitsu teachings which has been passed down for you to take.

BJJ promotes the concept that a smaller, weaker person can successfully defend against a bigger, stronger assailant by using proper technique, leverage, and most notably, taking the fight to the ground, and then applying joint-locks and chokeholds to defeat the opponent. BJJ training can be used for sport grappling tournaments (gi and no-gi) and mixed martial arts (MMA) competition or self-defense. Sparring(commonly referred to as “rolling”) and live drilling play a major role in training, and a premium is placed on performance, especially in competition, in relation to progress and ascension through its ranking system.

Since its inception in 1882, its parent art of Judo was separated from older systems of Japanese jiu-jitsu by an important difference that was passed on to Brazilian jiu-jitsu: it is not solely a martial art, it is also a sport; a method for promoting physical fitness and building character in young people; and, ultimately, a way of life.

    ANTHONY FALOTICO - HEAD INSTRUCTOR

    Nickname: Coach

    Disciplines: Boxing, Jiu-Jitsu

Personal Background: Coach Anthony has been an integral member of the Saint Cloud Community for over 32 years. Growing up in Saint Cloud he developed a love and respect for the small town that he calls home and the same place that developed him into the athlete and community leader that he is today.

First focusing on boxing, in 1997 Coach Anthony started his boxing career when he found and trained under the American World Champion Boxer, “The Coal Miner’s Daughter,” Christy Martin and went on to achieve many successes.

His great love for the sport naturally developed into a prolific coaching career starting in 2009 right here in Saint Cloud, Florida. Boasting many accomplishments by his athletes including championship wins at the Florida State Golden Gloves, The Florida State PALs, The Silver Gloves (state, regional, and national), and The Platinum Gloves, Coach Anthony continues coaching boxing until the present day.

As fate would have it, two major pivot points in Coach Anthony’s athletic history proved instrumental in developing his second love within contact sports: in 2011, Anthony’s best friend, MMA World Champion Bruce Connors, earned his World Championship winning the bout by knock-out ending with a devastating right cross in the first round. As a member of Bruce Connor’s fight team and working alongside Professor Fabin Rosa, Coach Anthony was introduced to the “gentle art” which is commonly known as jiu-jitsu. During that time, he unknowingly began developing a respect and then a love for the sport. Later in 2014, Antonio Falotico, Coach Anthony’s son (who was ten years old at the time) expressed his interest in jiu-jitsu and studied under Professor Fabin. A year into Antonio’s study of jiu-jitsu, father and son entered into a sacred pact in which each promised the other to continue studying, practicing, and competing in The Gentle Art and they have continued supporting each other ever since. Coach Anthony’s boxing gym then started incorporating jiu-jitsu and listed the Gentle Art as one of its offerings. That sacred pact between father and son quickly blossomed into what is known today as the best gym in Saint Cloud: The Whitehouse Jiu-Jitsu and Boxing.

As of today, this is Coach Anthony’s full-time job and he is living the dream! He has succeeded in providing the youth of Saint Cloud and the community at large a place to feel at home and call their own. YOU BELONG HERE!
Experience in your Sport During the time he trained with Christy, Anthony won multiple championships including The Florida State Golden Gloves Championship and The Sunshine State Games.

Coach Anthony has since dedicated himself 100% into The Gentle Art leading by example and winning worldwide championships boasting over 62 championship medals to date: 52 gold medals, 6 silver medals, and 4 bronze medals.
Experience as a Coach/Teacher Coach Anthony has been molding the minds of Saint Cloud’s youth since 2001 when he started coaching sports including Saint Cloud’s Pop Warner youth football league. Following his newly found passion for coaching, Coach Anthony went on to coach youth baseball, basketball, boxing and jiu-jitsu.

As the story goes, his great love for boxing naturally developed into a prolific coaching career in the combat sports starting in 2009 right here in Saint Cloud, Florida. Boasting many accomplishments by his combat sports athletes including championship wins at the Florida State Golden Gloves, The Florida State PALs, The Silver Gloves (state, regional, and national), and The Platinum Gloves, Coach Anthony continues coaching boxing until the present day.

Once jiu-jitsu came into Coach Anthony’s life, it’s arrival brought on a whole new level of coaching at the White House where Saint Cloud comes to train at the most sought-after programs in jiu-jitsu and boxing.
